Centric’s Application Modernization Assessment aims to evaluate the current state of your legacy applications and provide a strategic roadmap for modernization. This assessment helps identify opportunities to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability while aligning with your business goals and technological advancements.

Our Approach

1. Discovery:

• Objective: Gather comprehensive information about the existing application landscape.
• Activities:
• Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand business objectives and pain points.
• Inventory existing applications, infrastructure, and dependencies.
• Analyze current workflows, data flows, and integration points.

2. Assessment:

• Objective: Evaluate the current state of applications and identify modernization opportunities.
• Activities:
• Perform a technical assessment to identify architectural patterns, code quality, and technical debt.
• Assess the current state of application performance, resiliency, DevOps, security, and compliance.
• Evaluate the alignment of applications with business objectives and future needs.
• Measure current state application usage patterns to project production workloads.

3. Design:

• Objective: Develop a modernization strategy and design a future-state architecture.
• Activities:
• Define modernization goals and success criteria.
• Design a target architecture that leverages modern technologies and best practices leveraging the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Create a migration plan, including timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.

4. Recommendations:

• Objective: Provide actionable recommendations for application modernization.
• Activities:
• Prioritize applications for modernization based on business impact and technical feasibility.
• Recommend specific modernization approaches (e.g., rehosting, refactoring, rearchitecting).
• Outline a phased implementation plan with clear milestones and deliverables.

Our Deliverables

Interview and Workshops: Conduct interviews/workshops to develop a shared understanding of technology priorities, current application(s) requirements, and future needs. Interviews/workshops will have a published agenda and be used as input to update the technology modernization plan.

Organizational Skills & Practices Gaps: Collected assessment of variances in technical and human practices potentially contributing to long-term operations and support sustainment.

Modernization Plan: Future state Azure application architecture(s) along with a technology modernization plan that will include the identification and prioritization of relevant steps, processes, and/or technologies to modernize the application(s) identified above.

Roadmap: 30/60/90-day application modernization roadmap.
