TBM Launch remotely delivered professional services activities focus on helping Clients build a strong foundation of a TBM program. Having the proper foundation enables Clients to realize benefits faster from existing TBM activities and successfully expand the TBM program to meet evolving corporate objectives. The table below outlines some examples of Launch activities. The actual list of Launch activities will be agreed upon between Client and Customer Success Advisors (CSA).

  • Program Governance: Plan how a Client’s organization will integrate TBM into monthly reviews.
  • TBM Office Structure: Define what type of roles are needed to run a TBM Program and how the to enable them to become proficient in TBM.
  • Data Maturity Strategy: Assess, understand, and remediate data gaps in a structured approach that accelerates overall maturity in TBM.
  • ATUM Consulting: Determine how well a Client’s organization is aligned to take advantage of the ATUM Standard Framework with prescribed good, better and best strategies.
  • End User Evangelism and Enablement: Identify which roles will benefit most from TBM and why and define what they need to know to on-board this discipline successfully.

MANAGE Technology Business Management (TBM):

These remotely delivered professional services focus on Manage activities which have a focus on achieving value with and efficiently running Client’s existing TBM program. The table below outlines some examples of the potential direction and priorities of Manage efforts. The actual list of Manage activities will be agreed upon between Client and CSA.

  • Communicating Value: Define value and how to communicate it for business process alignment – Identify and integrate into Apptio the processes in Client’s organization that can provide increased value through TBM.
  • TBM Coaching: Enable senior staff members on advancing TBM across the organization in a way that achieves business objectives.
  • TBM Solution Consulting: Define and execute strategies on Costing, Planning, Benchmark and Billing that aligns with desired outcomes.
  • TBM Integrations: Plan and consult on how to integrate TBM with Client’s IT ecosystem (ServiceNow, AWS, Coupa, SAP, etc.) to maximize value.
  • Reporting Strategy: Determine what reports will be the most useful to the organization and roll them out to end users.
  • TBMO as a Service (self-funded): Define and execute a strategy to shift from the transformative nature of TBM to a self-funded, division that fuels innovation.
  • IT Economics Review – Assess data and identify what decisions the data enables. Answer questions like how to rationalize the spend profile and (if applicable) what strategy can be derived from the benchmark comparison.

ADVANCE Technology Business Management (TBM):

Advance activities focus on expanding the TBM program and realizing additional value. The table below outlines some examples of the potential direction and priorities of Advance efforts. The actual list of Advance activities will be agreed between Client and CSA.

  • ROI Value Tracking: Plan how to operationalize a TBM Division that will be self-funded through opportunities derived from TBM efforts.
  • Insights Pursuit: Identify the different types of insights available and enable staff on being effective insight hunters.
  • Cost Savings Identification: Translate insights into hard dollar cost savings and assist with realization tracking.
  • Project Justification: Understand how to justify a new investment (like migration to the Cloud) and accurately assess the trade-offs.
  • ITaaS, SIAM, ITIL Alignment: Define the right metrics to monitor and measure the IT or service transformation initiative.
  • Personalized Consulting: Strategize on the best way to facilitate specialized use cases by leveraging TBM solution investments.

Apptio Advisory Services provides assistance from experienced TBM Domain Experts in launching and expanding the Client’s TBM program within their organization. Packages can be purchased in 10% Full Time Equivalent (FTE) increments.

Billing Mapping: o Map Azure billing line items to IT Towers and Subtowers o Align cloud costs with TBM Services hierarchy o Normalize measurement units for consistent reporting Cost Reconciliation: o View and reconcile Azure costs between Azure portal and Apptio o Use detailed reporting tools to analyze cost variations o Leverage attribute pickers and slicers for granular insights
