Citrix on Azure: 3 wk Proof of Concept

Our approach to enabling extending or migrating to Citrix on Azure includes the following work packages:

1. Preparation for Migration:

• Discover if Citrix on Azure environment prerequisites are met
• Assess the existing VDI environment, including application inventories, usage, and consumption
• Design and Build – review assessment data, determine requirements, and design the Proof-of-Concept environment – either with New Image Templates, or by replicating the existing VDI environment

2. Configure and Test the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop Service environment

• Create the Citrix Cloud account and the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service
• Create resource locations and deploy the Citrix Cloud connector
• Install Citrix VDA (Virtual Delivery Agent) on the VMs
• Create the machine catalog in the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service
• Create a Citrix delivery group
• Add POC users to the Citrix workspace
• Test the Citrix on Azure deployment using the Citrix Workspace App

3. Configure and Secure the Citrix environment

• Configure Citrix App Layering
• Configure Autoscaling
• Secure the environment with Conditional Access
• Configure Profile Management
• Configure Monitoring & Analytics
