Velocity for Application Development: 24-Wk Development Program

Timeline Foundation: 3-Weeks The Foundation stage is focused on ensuring all the necessary components for the project are in place (such as stated goals, priorities, design, backlog creation and initial environments) to onboard a development team and have them productive day 1. This stage typically averages three (3) weeks in duration.

Baseline: 6-Weeks The Baseline stage centers on the development team launching off the established Foundation forward with the development of the product, with clearly stated goals, and tracking the velocity of the team. This phase consists of at least three sprints (6 weeks) to gather the required metrics to baseline the team’s development velocity.

Velocity: 12-24+ Weeks The Velocity stage is focused on the predictable delivery of the product increment. During this stage the team will continue to monitor, assess, and improve the team’s development velocity with complete transparency and participation with the client. This stage lasts the remainder of the engagement, typically twelve to twenty-four (12-24) weeks.
