Can't be transferred across AZs

Only able to transfer incremental snapshots across AZs, which is useless since I'm trying to recreate a disk in another AZ - can't transfer the disk, can't transfer a full snap to create a disk from, but I can transfer an incremental snapshot that I cannot create a disk from!

Easy to Use

It's very simple to take a snap of the current state of the disk. Easy and fast even if it's a full snapshot.

Not as good as VMware snapshots

When we need to do a snapshot for a VM, we can't do it, we can only take a snapshot of each disks from this VM. So when we have to save the state of a VM with many disk before installing a critical update, we have to snapshot every disks one by one and in case of a restore you need to restore each of them one by one. It's time consuming.

Excellent feature

We are using snapshot for all our servers and we found it very well and we have resolved lot of issues using snapshots. We use it for our HA requirement where we take snapshot every 4 hours.

Excellent feature

We have introduced using snapshots about 2years ago in our development environments. Using azure powershell we developed some azure functions to facilitate not only manual snapshots but automatic ones daily in dev environment as well. Since doing this our team has stopped relying on the more complicated Azure Recovery Services in development, and we may look into something similar in production in the future.
