FreeRADIUS is an open-source client/server protocol that provides centralized network authentication on systems. It is an open source implementation of RADIUS which is an IETF protocol for AAA - Authorization, Authentication, and Accounting. It is also claimed that FreeRADIUS is authenticates around a third of all internet users. FreeRADIUS offers wide ranging support for data stores, protocols, directories, databases, and language integrations. An open community contributes to make the editor and FreeRADIUS better.
